Tranmere will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Leyton Orient when they take on Southend United on day 8 of the new League Two campaign. Mike Jackson’s men have been playing below expectations at the start of the season, but the game against the Seasiders could be the turning point for the home team. Southend United do not seem to be competitive at this level, and seeing that they experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss at Salford City, scoring two own goals, we believe that home win should be considered.

Forward Nathan Ralph suffered an injury in the midweek clash, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. Tranmere failed to beat Southend in the previous five meetings between the two clubs in all competitions, but we believe that the time has come for Mike Jackson’s troops to put an end to the negative trend.
