Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Swindon Town play host to Rochdale at their County Ground in the opening match of the new League One campaign. Swindon aim to make amends for a 3-1 EFL Cup loss to Charlton Athletic, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail in Saturday’s showdown. The Robins added a number of talented footballers to the squad in the summer transfer window, meaning that boss Lee Power may need time to put all pieces of the puzzle together.
The Dale, on the other hand, are seen as No. 1 candidates to suffer relegation to the League Two. Rochdale did well to beat Huddersfield Town in their Carabao Cup opener, but beating Swindon Town on the road is easier said than done. The Robins were impressive at home ground in the League Two last season, and they are surely capable of beating Brian Barry-Murphy’s men at County Ground.
