After dropping two points in a 1-1 draw with Burton Albion, Sunderland will be looking to return to winning ways in the League One when they take on Wigan Athletic in yet another home game. The Black Cats failed to impress in the midweek clash, but thanks to Max Power’s late goal they eventually avoided defeat. To make things even worse for the hosts, both Charlie Wyke and Luke O’Nien suffered injuries in the 1-1 draw with the Brewers.

As things stand now, the duo is unlikely to feature against Wigan Athletic. The Latics, on the other hand, suffered a 2-1 loss to Lincoln in their last league match. Wigan Athletic do not seem to be competitive in the League One this season, and even though new Sunderland boss has some injury concerns, we are tempted to put our money on the promotion-chasing side.
