The Black Cats have been having their ups and downs of late, but a 2-0 win at Gillingham surely gave them a confidence boost. Sunderland aim to move a little closer to top two in the standings, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Tractor Boys.

Ipswich, on the other hand, head into the match following back-to-back home wins over Gillingham and Crewe, but they have been anything but brilliant on the road of late. After finding the net in the 2-0 win over the Gills, experienced attacker Chris Maguire is widely expected to return to Sunderland’s starting XI. In their last meeting at the Stadium of Light Sunderland defeated Ipswich Town thanks to Maguire’s goal.
