Southend United continue to struggle in the 2020/21 League Two campaign. The Seasiders are on a three-game losing run ahead of the visit of Oldham Athletic, with the team still eyeing their first win of the season. Southend have yet to recover from the financial crisis that hit the club last season, and it is no wonder they sit in the ultimate place in the standings ahead of Matchday 9.

The Latics, on the other hand, aim to escape the danger zone, and they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways in the League Two. Oldham did well to beat Bolton on the road ten days ago, and they are surely capable of picking up all three points from Tuesday’s clash against the rock-bottom side. Forward Nathan Ralph remains in the recovery room for the hosts, which is yet another reason why away win should be considered.
