After dropping two points in a 2-2 draw with Wycombe, Preston will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Championship when they host Middlesbrough at their Deepdale. The Lilywhites have been showing signs of improvement of late as they outplayed Bournemouth on the road on Matchday 15, but the game against Middlesbrough will be anything but a walk in the park for the home team.

Midfielder Ben Pearson, who suffered an injury at the weekend, is unlikely to feature against the Boro. The visitors, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Stoke City. Middlesbrough are eager to move a little closer to the playoffs berth, but given their anything but good away record in the 2020/21 season, share of spoils is on the cards at the Deepdale. The likes of Browne, Fletcher, and Hall are all likely to miss the Preston game with injury.
