Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
A place in the EFL Cup quarter-finals will be at stake when Newport County and Newcastle United face each other at Rodney Parade. The Magpies were more than fortunate not to avoid loss at Tottenham at the weekend, with the team scoring the equalizer in the seventh minute of the stoppage time. Summer signing Callum Wilson saved one point in London, and, no doubt, all eyes will be on the former Bournemouth attacker when Newcastle face Newport in the EFL Cup last 16.
Seeing that Steve Bruce has a number of injury worries ahead of Wednesday’s clash, away win should not be considered. The Exiles, on the other hand, did well to beat Bolton on the road in the League Two at the weekend, with the team extending their winning run in all competitions to four games. Since they outplayed Watford 3-1 in the previous EFL Cup round, we are tempted to put our money on the underdogs.
